FS2002 America West Boeing 757-200 with Rolls=Royce engines
======================================

Now for the first time available for FS2002!!

This is an excellent Boeing 757 painted in America West's new colorscheme. The creation of this aircraft has taken longer than any other of my previous aircraft due to a change in flight models.

This aircraft uses the base Euroflight Rolls-Royce 757 model. However, when I first began working on the aircraft, I noticed a number of problems with the original Euroflight model These included:

Horrible rudder control
Underpowered engines
Slow control response
Poor performance at cruise altitude
Horrendous frame rates
No reverse thrust, etc...
and little black spots all over the fuselage.

So I went in and basically rebuilt the aircraft. She now flies better, responds faster, is solid as a rock (almost, see note below...) at cruise altitude, has all the features the real jet has INCLUDING reverse thrust, black spots are gone (mostly, sometimes they appear, but very rarely now), and best of all, frame rates are triple what they were before.

When I began working on this plane I was getting about 5-6FPS on my system. When I was done, I was getting 15-22 fps. Not only does this make things smoother, but also allows you to be in better control of the aircraft, making your flying experience much, much better.

I also created an all-new AIR file, and aircraft.cfg file for the plane to improved realism. You might try hitting the "I" key while in the sim, I've added smoke to the aircraft, so if you feel like simulating an engine fire, or heaven forbid, a crash, then you can do it more realistically.

However this has only been tested on my system, so I'm not sure if the effects will be the same for you, just give it a shot I guess. ;)

On another note, this project has really changed the way I paint aircraft. I purchased a whole new set of graphic design tools especially for this aircraft, even though some details such as cargo hold doors are missing. The reason for their absence is that I simply ran out of time to paint them, although I had hoped to do more with this aircraft. So if you notice a slight lack in detail, I know about it, unfortunately. :(

But the detail put into the aircraft itself is excellent, so it should more than make up for other...er....compromises. ;)

A NOTE ABOUT ROCKING AT CRUISE ALTITUDE:

OK, it was a bit trickier eliminating the instability at cruise on this aircraft. I'll admit that it is not as stable as my P & W 757s, but it should not be too bad. There is still some very minimal rocking, but it's only minimal, and should not be too big of a problem. I played with the AIR and aircraft.cfg files for a good 6 hours trying to get the aircraft as stable as possible, and this was as good as I could get it. I hope it's good enough. ;)

A note to those who would like to request an aircraft: I have recieved a number of requests over the past few months for new aircraft. Most of those requests have been fulfilled, and are on SurClaro. In fact this very aircraft came about from a request. However, my high school demands have become increasingly greater over the past week, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get aircraft put together as quickly as I have in the past. So if you'd like to request an aircraft, that's wonderful, and I'll do what I can to make your request a reality, however it might take some time.

Phew, well I think I've just about covered everything, except the:

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

It's easy!! Simply unzip this winzip file into your FS2002 AIRCRAFT directory, and you're done!!!

==================IMPORTANT!!!!=======================================

SOMETHING YOU NEED TO KNOW: If you climb or descend too quickly, dont expect the autopilot to level you out perfectly the first time:

Example:

Say you are cruising at FL330, and you set the autopilot to hold FL180, and select the descent rate to an unusually high number (-2500 or above)

When you get to 18,000 feet, you will continue to descend for another 500 feet or so, and will then steadily climb back up to 18,000. THIS IS NOT A BUG!! THIS IS REALISM! Just like in a real aircraft, if you climb or descend too fast, you arent going to come out perfectly at your selected altitude, you'll have to level out, and then slowly climb or descend to reach your preferred altitude.

Anyway, just to let you know so that you dont write and say that this is a problem.

Note: IF you experience ANY problems at all with this plane, please e-mail me and let me know. Your complaints make better aircraft!!

Also feel free to email me to let me know what you think of this plane, believe me your input is greatly appreciated.

LEGAL:
This aircraft is FREEWARE!!! That means PLEASE don't make money off it. You can upload it where you like, but please give credit to the original creator (me!). It wouldn't be nice to steal an airplane! ;) Your welcome to repaint it if you like.

Most of all, have fun flying!! :DD
